Amendments made to Part II of the Canada Labour Code in
September 2000 (under Bill C-12) resulted in many new legal
duties and liabilities for employers, including the duty to
"ensure that employees who have supervisory or managerial
responsibilities are adequately trained in health and safety and
are informed of the responsibilities they have." This course is
specifically designed to meet this legal requirement.
Health and safety training of managers and supervisors is
essential for an effective health and safety program, and now it
is the law. Ensuring legal compliance is critical to avoid legal
liability. Managers and supervisors must now be familiar with
the legal requirements for health and safety compliance set out
in the Canada Labour Code - Part II, and health and safety
management. This course, designed by Norm Keith, B.A.,
LL.B., CRSP, a leading employment and labour lawyer and
author of Canadian Health & Safety Law, will assist managers
and supervisors to achieve due diligence.
The course focuses on:
- Canada Labour Code - Part II and Regulations
