Effective health and safety compliance for mines and mining
plants may only be achieved through proper risk management.
Legal liability and operational disruptions may occur if health
and safety laws are violated. Employers must ensure that their
mine managers, professional engineers, and shift supervisors
are familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA),
and the Mines and Mining Plant Regulations.
