Gowlings provides training on the essentials of OHSAS 18001.
Ontario employers face strict enforcement of Ontario's
Occupational Health and Safety Act ("OHSA") and the new crime
under Bill C-45. This makes it more important than ever to
establish and implement an effective Occupational Health and
Safety Management System (OHSMS) to protect your workers
and reduce your legal liability.
An effective OHSMS reduces the number of workplace
incidents, establishes due diligence, and reduces legal liability
that employers and individuals may be subject to under the
OHSA and Bill C-45.
This course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to
understand OHSAS 18001 - the leading international standard
for effective OHSMSs. Gowlings’ course on OHSAS 18001
provides a unique review of the "applicable OHS legislation"
requirement under OHSAS 18001, and how OHSMSs relate to
due diligence.
This course, designed by Norm Keith, B.A., LL.B., CRSP, a
leading employment lawyer and author of Canadian Health &
Safety Law, will help participants understand the essentials of
OHSAS 18001 including:
